SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the audiovisual signal quality assessment. Disclosed is a device for assessing the quality of an audiovisual signal, comprising: audio signal quality evaluation module for audio signal quality estimation for each time unit, based on the parameter affecting the audio signal quality and included in the number of parameters relating to said content; a video signal quality evaluation unit for estimating video signal quality for each time unit based on a parameter which affects video signal quality and is included in a number of parameters related to said content; a unit for estimating quality of a time unit for combining audio signal quality and quality of a video signal for each time unit in order to estimate the quality of the audiovisual signal for each time unit; a coding quality assessment unit for combining the quality of the audiovisual signal for said time units into a single value for assessing the quality of encoding an audiovisual signal with respect to degradation of coding characteristics, wherein the estimate takes into account quality variations over time; and a module for assessing the quality of the audiovisual signal for assessing the quality of the audiovisual signal perceived by the viewer after the end of the content, based on said quality of audiovisual signal encoding.

EFFECT: technical result is providing quality assessment of the audiovisual signal with the possibility of adequate presentation of the quality of the audiovisual signal perceived by the viewer.
