SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Encoder for encoding secondary media data comprising metadata or control data for primary media data comprises a grouping module for grouping a stream of secondary media data, to form grouped secondary media data representing data words; a reference signal former for forming a reference pattern indicating the reference amplitude or a predetermined point in time in the primary media data; and a stream composer comprising a pulse shaping filter to filter out the low-pass data words or the reference pattern, to obtain data pulses having a length of more than one sample of a predetermined sampling rate, wherein the encoder is configured to output a stream of digital words as secondary media data.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the processing of a media signal containing metadata or control data.
