FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming. Method of making metal caps involves feeding textured strip or sheet from aluminum alloy coated with a layer of stamping lacquer. Called billets are cut to discs. Stamping and cutting in one or more passes of anisotropic angles from metal workpiece using stamping lubricant to produce stamped workpiece with head and skirt. Degreased workpiece is degreased for removal of grease residues to produce defatted workpiece. Extraction step is carried out, at which extruded workpiece is passed through annular matrix for elongation and thinning of metal. Invention also relates to a metal cap produced in this way.
EFFECT: technical result is preservation of textured appearance on entire surface of cap head and obtaining smooth or glossy appearance on entire height of skirt or wall of cap.
