FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aluminium alloys for use in an impact extrusion manufacturing process to create shaped containers and other articles of manufacture. Aluminium alloy for forming metal container by impact extrusion contains, wt%: at least about 97 aluminium, at least about 0.10 silicon, at least about 0.25 iron, at least about 0.05 copper, at least about 0.07 manganese, at least about 0.05 magnesium. Method of forming metal workpiece from aluminium alloy for production of metal container by impact extrusion involves melting primary aluminium with material based on aluminium scrap into furnace with indirect heating for production of processed aluminium alloy casting to make slab with preset thickness, hot rolling for creation of hot-rolled strip, cooling in water solution, cold rolling, forming, annealing and cooling, final finishing of workpiece by giving roughness of outer surface to create high specific surface area.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at creation of lightweight and strong aluminium alloy for production of container impact-extrusion stamping.
