SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of obtaining digital images. Alignment method for obtaining images with an extended dynamic range includes: applying spatial filtering to an image to detect details, discarding spatially uncorrelated data; implementation of adaptive filtering; detection of elements by fitting visible parts using filters with an adaptable shape, whose shapes and characteristic dimensions are determined by these prominent details; use of the image brightness channel as a quasistatic potential phase field; determination of particle trajectories along the instantaneous local gradient at the position of the particle in the field; analysis for both positive and negative particle charges; calculation of the range of characteristics for each component in the image; and comparing the characteristics of paired components to select or exclude paired components.

EFFECT: technical result is the provision of image correction when processing video with an extended dynamic range.
