FIELD: printing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a laser printing system for illuminating an object in a working plane. Object moves relative to the print head of the laser printing system. Print head comprises a total number of laser modules, each laser module comprising at least one laser array from lasers. At least two of these laser modules share power supply source. Laser printing system further comprises a controller configured so that at a maximum print head processing rate only a predetermined number of laser modules can be excited at nominal electrical power, wherein said predetermined number of laser modules is smaller than the total number of laser modules. Present invention also relates to a corresponding laser printing method.
EFFECT: system and method of laser printing allow designing a laser printing system for feeding, for example, only 20 % of total power, which might be required for excitation of all lasers at rated electric power, with only slightly reduced processing speed.
