FIELD: hydro acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustics, particularly sonar. Disclosed is a bistatic method of detecting an underwater target, comprising emitting into water with a first subsystem of bistatic sonar (BG) of a composite hydroacoustic signal, having a probing signal of frequency f1 and an information signal consisting of a synchronizing pulse and context information in the frequency band f1±Δf1, reception by the second BG subsystem of the echo signal from the target and the direct information signal, selection of these signals, demodulation and recovery of the mode information, processing of the echo signal and detection of the underwater target, in which the second BG subsystem emits into water a composite hydroacoustic signal which includes a frequency probing signal f2 and an information signal in the frequency band f2±Δf2, consisting of synchronizing pulse and context information, and its composition includes results of target detection at frequency f1, receiving, by the first BG subsystem, an echo signal from the target of frequency f2 and a forward information signal in the frequency band f2±Δf2, selection of these signals, demodulation and restoration of mode information, processing of frequency echo signal f2 and target detection, and final decision on detection of underwater target is carried out in first subsystem by results of target detection by first and second subsystems of processing of echo-signals of frequencies f1 and f2. Also bistatic sonar is proposed, which realizes this method.
EFFECT: proposed method and device allow increasing area of target detection zone.
