FIELD: hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustics and can be used to estimate current coordinates of marine objects when solving detection problems using sonars with flexible extended towed antennae. Method of determining current coordinates of a target in bistatic sonar mode consists in the fact that when a target is detected by a long extended towed antenna (LETA) in bistatic sonar mode, in the course of the LETA carrier which does not coincide with the base of spaced apart radiating and receiving systems, including the hydroacoustic signal emission, detection of reflected signal from LETA target, determination of bearing and distance, as well as speed and heading course, conditionally located on left or right side, determination of relative radial speed of target using Doppler effect. At that, calculated values of relative radial speed of target for conditional position of target on left and right sides are determined, module of difference of absolute values of radial speed of target obtained using Doppler effect is determined, and absolute values of radial velocities of target for conditional position of target on left and right side and with minimum discrepancy between obtained estimates, which does not exceed threshold value, decision is made on true values of bearing and distance, as well as speed and course of target.
EFFECT: high reliability of determining true coordinates of a target when detecting a single-line LETA consisting of non-directional converters in bistatic sonar mode.
