FIELD: seals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a new type of double mechanical seal, used, for example, for shaft seal of centrifugal pump. Double mechanical seal comprises two pairs of sealing rings having sliding or sealing surfaces, and at least one spring adapted for movement, when using main and auxiliary stationary sealing rings in opposite directions to main and auxiliary rotating sealing rings. At that the main stationary sealing ring contains a sliding ring and the main support ring, besides, the main support ring has the first axial end with the seat for the sliding ring and the second axial end with the edge opposite to the first axial end. Auxiliary stationary sealing ring comprises a sliding ring and an auxiliary support ring, wherein the auxiliary support ring has an inlet groove or a hole and an outlet groove or a bore for a gate fluid medium. Main support ring has at least one recessed in axial direction and elongated in circumferential direction section or one elongated in circumferential direction hole. Inlet and outlet grooves or holes in the auxiliary thrust ring are located in radial communication along the flow with the said at least one section or an elongated hole.

EFFECT: invention is intended to solve problems related to circulation of breech fluid, id est liquid used for lubrication of sealing surfaces.
