SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial processing of waste from glass and can be used to produce foamed glass. Method of producing foamed glass includes preliminary shredding of glass cullet to particle size 0.1…5 mm, obtaining a glass binder suspension by wet grinding of glass cullet in water in a ball mill at moisture content of 24…32 % for 2…5 h, molding, hardening of glass binding suspension in sealed conditions at constant moisture content during 72…168 h, foaming at 740 °C …820 °C at furnace heating rate 200…250 deg/h, holding at foaming temperature during 0.25…1 hour, annealing.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining foamed glass based on low-density glass cullet with preservation of strength characteristics.
