SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems comprising a network of wireless nodes for determining location of a mobile device. First wireless node for use in a network of wireless nodes for localization to determine the location of a mobile device based on corresponding beacons transmitted wirelessly between the mobile device and each of the plurality of wireless nodes. First wireless node is configured to: wirelessly transmit or receive a corresponding beacon for use in determining location of mobile device; and wirelessly transmit information confirming one or more other of wireless nodes as trusted for use at said localization. This information is transmitted to a localization device (for example, a mobile device) for use in identifying one or more fraudulent versions of said wireless nodes.
EFFECT: enabling identification of fraudulent nodes in a network from wireless support units emitting beacons used for localization.
