SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to location of a user in a wireless communication network, and specifically to a system and a method for determining indoor context information relating to location of a mobile device. The method involves determining information relating to a location of a mobile device based on signals received by the mobile device; transmitting said information to one or more first network elements and, based thereon, receiving from second network elements, information relating to indoor context information for an indoor environment, which includes information identifying the position of one or more first wireless access points in the indoor environment. The method also involves determining the position of second wireless access points not included in the indoor context information; updating the indoor context information to include positions of second wireless access points and transmitting said information to second network elements; obtaining an estimate of the location of the mobile device based on information relating to its location and the updated indoor context information.

EFFECT: obtaining an estimate of the location of a mobile device in an indoor environment.
