FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a catalyst for oxidising methanol to formaldehyde and can be used in producing formaldehyde. Method of obtaining a catalyst for oxidising methanol to formaldehyde, containing mixture consisting of Fe2(MoO4)3/MoO3 at atomic ratio Mo/Fe = 2.5 and clay or boehmite in amount of up to 15 wt%, includes stages of catalyst grains molding and their subsequent thermal treatment. According to invention to Fe2(MoO4)3/MoO3 dry clay and / or boehmite is added; water is added to the obtained mixture to obtain a molding paste with moisture content of 10–20 %; the catalyst grains are molded by extrusion.
EFFECT: low complexity of the technology of producing catalysts, enabling production of catalysts with high strength properties and broader functional capabilities.
