FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to foundry. Unit for production of sand molds comprises structure of unit with forming chamber, front plate and rear plate and manipulator, wherein front plate and rear plate are made with possibility of sand pressing inside said forming chamber in order to create sand casting mold. Front plate and rear plate are configured to receive corresponding model plates for forming front and the sand casting rear surfaces in accordance with the template, and the manipulator is attached to the unit structure and is made with possibility of the model plates replacement.
EFFECT: reduced human intervention in procedure for replacement of model plates.
