FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used in planning correction of foot deformities (reconstruction), including all its departments, when deformation components (angulation, translation, shortening) are located in a sagittal plane. X-ray image of a foot made in a lateral projection is used to define the point "a" corresponding to the posterior edge of the articular surface of the ankle block, and the point "b" corresponding to the front edge. Point "c" corresponding to a reference point of the head of the first metatarsal bone and a point "d" corresponding to a reference point of a heel bone are determined. All points are connected. Quadrangle is constructed, where ab is an upper side, and dc is a lower side, using reference values dab = 103.2° (± 7.2), abc = 142.3° (± 8.5), bcd = 33.1° (± 1.7), cda = 81.1° (± 8.6), k1 = ad/ab = 1.71 (± 1.17), k2 = bc/ab = 2.99 (± 0.8), k3 = dc/ab = 3.9 (± 0.9). Quadrangle is constructed as it should be in the absence of foot deformation. It is compared with a real quadrangle plotted according to the X-ray image of the patient. If they do not match, availability of deformation is determined.

EFFECT: method provides accurate determination of the foot deformation in the sagittal plane independently by determining the location of the corresponding points on the X-ray image and performing comparative geometrical constructions.
