FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: X-ray of the foot with a load is obtained. The reference lines and angles are determined from it. The line of the articular surface of trochlea of talus (ab) is plotted on the roentgenogram in the lateral projection. From the posterior point of articular surface of trochlea of talus (b), line drawn anteriorly and downward at an angle of 24°. According to the claimed formula, the anatomical position of the head of the first metatarsal bone (bc) is determined. Vertex of deformation of the midfoot is determined along the intersection of the line coinciding with the mechanical axis of the first metatarsal bone with the line bc. Based on the data obtained, localization of surgical intervention and the volume of planned surgical correction are determined.

EFFECT: method allows to conduct pre-operative planning of surgical correction of secondary deformities of the midfoot with high information, accuracy and reliability, by comprehensive assessment of the most significant reference lines and angles of the foot.
