FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for protection of electric mains against short circuit by temperature control of terminal connections and can be used in industrial and household equipment to prevent fire-hazardous situations. In the disclosed method of temperature control of terminal connection thermal probe is installed in terminal connection and thermal probe is used as base for thermal sensor. Note here that reference voltage is applied to non-inverting input of comparator, which is determined by voltage divider from constant resistors, variable voltage is applied to comparator inverting input, which is determined by constant resistor and thermistors used as thermal sensors. Further, voltages are compared on said two inputs of the comparator. At temperature of terminal connection to critical index and corresponding excess voltage on inverting input, transistor is opened to actuate relay and electric circuit is broken. As the temperature on the terminal connection decreases and the voltage decreases at the inverting input, the transistor is closed, the relay is disconnected, thus restarting the electric circuit.

EFFECT: technical result is obtaining operative and reliable information on thermal state of terminal connections of electric circuit due to exclusion of electric connection of thermal sensor with thermal probe, as well as use of inverting circuit of comparator switching.
