FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and aims at treating overweight or obesity in patients with high blood glucose. Method comprises steps (a) of orally administering to patient 1.25 g to approximately 3 g of cross-linked carboxymethylcellulose and (b) oral administration to patient of 100 ml of water per gram of cross-linked carboxymethyl cellulose. Stages (a) and (b) are carried out before or during at least one meal a day, wherein the patient has blood glucose level on an empty stomach of 90 mg/dL or higher. Also described is use of cross-linked carboxymethyl cellulose in a method of treating overweight or obesity in patients with high blood glucose level.
EFFECT: group of inventions improves effectiveness of treatment.
