SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an absorbent material, such as a non-woven fabric or a thin paper, comprising continuous filaments and short fibers, wherein the short fibers contain natural and/or synthetic fibers or staple fibers, wherein the absorbent material has an absorption rate which is equal to or less than 2 s, and weight loss when washing is equal to or less than 5 %.

EFFECT: present invention also relates to a method for preparing an absorbent material and a tissue containing said material.
