FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in production of rod-shaped parts with head and thread. Proposed method comprises stage of cutting billet from bar, stage of lubricating coating formation on billet surface, stage of billet reduction to required rod diameter, stages of rod head upsetting, thread rolling and stage of heat treatment. At the stage of formation of the lubricating coating on the billet surface, a lubricating coating is additionally formed on the working surfaces of the deforming tools used at the stages of reduction of the billet and upsetting of the rod head. Deforming tools working surfaces are provided with recesses of depth h with pitch t, wherein t/h = 1–10. Formation of lubricating coating on said working surfaces of deforming tools is performed by application of lubricant with provision of complete filling of recesses. Then, stages of head reduction and upsetting are performed.
EFFECT: reduced deformation force and higher quality of produced articles.
