FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for production of modified cast iron for manufacture of high-wear parts of machines. Modifier is used, wt%: nano-sized carbon particles 74–89, fine silicon carbide 10–25, which is introduced into ladle in amount of 0.10–0.25 wt% of weight of modified cast iron. Modifier is obtained by separation of dust caught by gas cleaning from production of technical silicon.
EFFECT: invention increases mechanical strength of grey cast iron and reduces specific electrical resistance of modified cast iron.
