FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive testing of hidden defects in heat and waterproofing plating of large-sized cylindrical articles related to chemical, oil and gas and rocket and space industries using an active thermal method. Device for thermal non-destructive testing of large-size cylindrical articles comprises a device for rotating a controlled article, a thermal imager and a heating source connected to a computer and located on the outside of the inspected article. Heating source comprises a deflector housing accommodating n tubular electric heaters connected to the heating control unit. Heating source is fixed on a robotic manipulator mounted on linear guides, parallel to which the controlled article is placed on the rollers. Electric drive connected to the rotation control unit is connected to one roller. One end of the first rod is rigidly attached to the housing-reflector of the heating source, to the other end of which the end of the second rod is attached by means of a movable hinge, on the other end of which a thermal imager is fixed. Robotic manipulator, a heating control unit, a rotation control unit and a position sensor located near the surface of the monitored article are connected to the computer.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in the large-size products control performance and its automation.
