FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cable industry and specifically to polymer compositions based on plasticized polyvinylchloride (PVC) with low flammability, intended for insulation of inner and outer shells of wires and cables operated in conditions of high fire hazard. Electrical insulation composition for insulation of inner and outer shells of wires and cables comprises suspension polyvinyl chloride, ester plasticizer, stabilizers – tribasic lead sulphate and calcium stearate, fire retardant additive – fine galvanic sludge obtained after reagent treatment of waste water from galvanic production of composition Zn(OH)₂, Ni(OH)₂, Cu(OH)₂, Fe(OH)₃, Ca(OH)₂, oxides CaO, SiO₂, dried and subjected to grinding to degree of grinding of not more than 40 mcm, and a pigment – soot.

EFFECT: reduced flammability of the composition while maintaining technological characteristics, as well as safe disposal of galvanic slurry.
