FIELD: waste processing and disposal.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to treatment of liquid media containing radioactive wastes. Method of cleaning liquid radioactive wastes (LRW) involves their successive passing through sorption filters with loading of granulated inorganic sorbents, first through a filter with ferrocyanide sorbents, and then through a filter with zeolites of type "A" or sorbents based on hydroxides of tetravalent metals. In the process of passage, sorbents are washed in filters with heated aqueous-alcoholic solution in recirculation mode with intermediate cleaning of said solution with the help of ultrafiltration module. There is also apparatus for realizing the method.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to provide considerable increase in service life of sorbents during cleaning of liquid radioactive wastes containing surfactants, and reduction of amount of secondary wastes by 5–10 times during their processing.
