FIELD: chemical technology; environmental control in servicing nuclear power-generating plants. SUBSTANCE: stage-by-stage recovery of liquid radioactive wastes containing cesium and strontium radionuclides involves the following procedures: wastes are first delivered to pre-decontamination stage including mechanical cleaning units, ultra-filtering and micro-filtering unit, then they are passed through selective inorganic sorbent based on ferrocyanides of transition metals of copper, nickel, cobalt, and porous inorganic carrier, then through reverse-osmosis module with salt content of 1 g/l per stage or with salt content of 1 g/l per two stages in which case currents are separated into concentrate and permeate which is then finally decontaminated by passing it through sorbent chosen from the following series: type A synthetic zeolite, hexagonal-structure chabazite, or natural monoclinic-structure zeolite, such as modified Seleks-KM zeolite. As an alternative, concentrate may be passed through selective inorganic sorbent after reverse osmosis. EFFECT: improved decontamination efficiency. 6 cl, 1 tbl
