First unit for controlling integrity protection of a logical channel control (LCC) packet data unit (PDU) is configured to perform communication in a wireless communication network, wherein the first node equips the LCC PDU unit with an indicator indicating that integrity protection has been applied to at least a portion of the LCC PDU unit, indicator may indicate that the message authentication code (MAC) field is contained in the LCC PDU unit relating to said integrity protection, the first node transmits the LCC PDU unit with indication to the other, second node, which can then identify, based on the indication that the received LCC PDU applies integrity protection.
