According to an embodiment, a method of providing a radio resource control (RRC) state of user equipment (UE) to a core network node used in a network node comprises steps of: receiving, from the core network node, a request to receive UE transition notification between the first RRC state and the second RRC state; determining that said UE has switched between a first RRC state and a second RRC state; and notifying about transition to core network node. Method of receiving RRC state information from a UE used in a core network node comprises steps of: sending a subscription request to a network node to receive a UE transition notification between a first RRC state and a second RRC state; and as determined by a network node that said UE has switched between a first RRC state and a second RRC state, a notification is received from a network node.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure use of inactive state of connection to reduce power consumption in system.
