FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to composite oxide containing cerium oxide, praseodymium oxide and aluminum oxide. Described is a composite oxide used as a catalyst or catalyst component containing cerium oxide, praseodymium oxide and aluminum oxide, wherein molar ratio of cerium to praseodymium composite oxide ranges from 40:60 to 65:35, and wherein content of aluminum ranges from 3.5 to 15 mol% in terms of 100 mol% of all moles of cerium, praseodymium and aluminum in composite oxide.

EFFECT: creation of improved material for oxygen accumulation, in particular, for use as component of oxygen accumulation in processing of exhaust gases, as well as providing an improved method of treating exhaust gases, particularly by using improved oxygen accumulation materials.
