SUBSTANCE: invention relates to household electrical equipment intended for hair care. Disclosed is a hair care appliance (100) configured to dry hair and comprising ion generator (500) for feeding ions to the hair and switching circuit (300) for actuating the ion generator after a moment, when a hair care appliance (100) has been included, in which ion generator (500) is turned on when the hair moisture level is considered to be below a given moisture level, i.e. when the hair is sufficiently dry to become susceptible to problems associated with static electricity and frizzy hair. Switching circuit (300) can receive input data from sensor (S) for measuring hair moisture level, wherein sensor (S) for measuring hair temperature and / or a timer for switching on ion generator (500) is switched off after a predetermined period of time.

EFFECT: higher quality of hair care during drying.
