FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a protective layer catalyst for processing heavy oil feedstock. Catalyst is a mixture γ- and δ-modifications of aluminum oxide, which contains macropores, which form a spatial structure. Share of macropores with size in range from 50 nm to 15 mcm is not less than 30 % in total specific volume of pores with specific surface area of not less than 100 m2/g with an outer surface portion of not less than 50 % and a specific pore volume of not less than 0.1 cm3/g.
EFFECT: obtained catalyst has considerably higher specific surface area available for high-molecular reagents, and increased specific volume of macropores.
