FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sight device for viewing inner part of container, chamber or pipe under pressure, through which fluid medium is supplied under pressure. Disclosed sight device comprises a sight glass assembly installed above a hole in a container, a chamber or a pipe, and the sight glass assembly comprises a sight glass adjacent to the opening which forms a window leading to the interior of the container, chamber or pipe, and a protective shell installed behind and/or around the sight glass assembly, preventing the fluid outlet through the hole in the pipe in case of the sight glass unit damage. Due to this, outlet of fluid medium under pressure, which is located inside container, chamber or pipe under pressure, will be guaranteed to be excluded even in case of damage to sight glass assembly. Besides, behind the first one there can be installed the second sight glass, and between the first and the second glasses there can be left the minimum gap, or the gap can be filled with liquid or gel for reduction of probability that at damage of the first sight glass destruction of the second sight glass did not occur, and/or can be installed valve, automatically isolating system under pressure at damage of sight glass.
EFFECT: technical result is higher safety when using inspection glasses in systems under high pressure.
