FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment of fibre-optic communication systems, and can be used for localization of events on reflectograms of group of optical fibres of one elementary cable section of fibre-optic transmission line. In the method of localizing events on reflectograms of a group of optical fibres of one elementary cable section of a fibre-optic transmission line, analysis of each reflectogram from this group taken in a given direction is performed for the purpose of identifying and identifying events, with subsequent compilation of an event table. Then the tables of reflectograms are compared in one direction with verification of compliance with the condition that the pair of events belong to the reflectograms of different optical fibres of one direction to one event. Further, in different directions with verification of the condition of the checksum of distances to the same event in opposite directions relative to the optical length of the elementary cable section when the first or second condition is satisfied, at least for a pair of events of two different optical fibres or in the case of the second condition for a pair of events of the same optical fibre, a conclusion is made on the presence of that event on all other reflectograms of the group, after which corresponding corrections are made to the events tables of the reflectograms of optical fibres with missed events.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of localization of events on reflectograms of group of optical fibres of one elementary section of fibre-optic transmission line.
