FIELD: telecommunication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of fibre-optic communication and can be used for transmitting information on sections of a communication system, on which there is need for uncovering not only the fact, but antecedents of different emergency situations. To achieve this technical result, the transmitting equipment of the system comprises: device for generating test signal, electro-optical converter, optical splitter, control device, device for inputting external control signals, display device. The reception equipment comprises: spectrum analyser for signals from the generator of test signals at the output of an optical cable, device (data base) for storing reference signal spectra, device for processing and comparing signal spectra at the output of the optical cable and reference spectra.
EFFECT: more functional capabilities of the fibre-optic transmission system and provision for detection of the appearance and place of appearance of moving objects in the area of installation of the optical cable of an intranodal communication line, which can attempt to gain unauthorised access, damage the fibre-optic communication line and similar acts; detection of attempts at unauthorised access to communication lines and attempts at breaking cable shield on connection lines; control of the ageing process of optical fibre.
