FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transport and is used for performance of special works at repair and construction of pipelines, and namely during overlap mounting. For this purpose, method is proposed for transfer of pipeline end at mounting of overlap, including movement of pipe end and centring before welding, where pipeline moved end is fixed in at least one device for centring and fixation of pipeline end, which is then moved together with the pipeline along the guide or on the ground to a position allowing for alignment, and then aligning the end of the pipeline with a device for centring and fixing the end of the pipeline. To implement the method, a device for movement, centring and fixation of the pipeline end is used, which includes a bearing structure, a pipe grip, power elements for movement and fixation of the pipe grip, wherein bearing structure is made with possibility of movement along guide or directly on ground or fixed on moving element.

EFFECT: object of the invention is to develop a method and a device which make it possible to avoid use of heavy oversized and expensive equipment at retention and movement of ends of pipes due to application of cheap and easy means of movement.
