FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method includes installation of a workpiece on a table of a longitudinal planer machine, alignment of a workpiece position, fixation of cutter in cutter holder with turn of main cutting edge of cutter by angle of 64–66° relative to direction of table movement and clearance height between cutter and measuring plate on side of intake edge by 0.02–0.03 mm is greater than on side of main cutting edge, and planing is performed with table feed rate = 4–6 mm/double stroke, cutting speed 11–14 m/min and cutting depth 0.1–0.15 mm with simultaneous supply of cooling emulsion.
EFFECT: reduced roughness of the treated surface and reduced processing time.
