FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to metal planing with removal of chips on numerically controlled machines and can be used for processing nonlinear surfaces of complex shape. Planing of nonlinear surfaces of thin-walled parts includes processing by transverse and longitudinal lines on five-coordinate processing machines with numerical control so that total cutting force is directed along the direction of maximum rigidity of the part. Machine axes are rotated and cutting angle of cutting tool is maintained at 90±0.5°. Tool for the above planing comprises a body with a coaxially installed round working element in the form of a cutting plate fixed in the body by means of a screw, with the possibility of maintaining the cutting angle on the entire machining path of 90±0.5°.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of processing due to higher efficiency, reduced effect of dynamic action on processed article and providing action of total cutting force along the direction of greatest rigidity of the workpiece.
