SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Invention is a method for assessing the quality of day-old chickens, involving selective slaughtering and determining biochemical parameters in biological material, where biological material used is blood plasma, and biochemical parameters used are general antioxidant activity (GAA) and amount of end products lipid peroxidation (TBARS), at value of ratio GAA/TBARS>800 chickens are referred to 1st category, at ratio GAA/TBARS 300–800 chicks are referred to the second category and at ratio GAA/TBARS<300 chickens refer to the third category, unsuitable for cultivation of a stage of evaluation quality.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase quality assessing of daily chicken.
