EVAPORATOR Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B01D1/06

Abstract RU 2700059 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of evaporators and can be used for concentration of radioactive solutions. Disclosed is an evaporating apparatus comprising a remote heating chamber, a separator with a liquid trap, a lower feed chamber, a circulation pipe connecting the lower feed chamber with the separator, upper part of circulation pipe, smoothly bent at angle of 90° and connected to separator through branch pipe, having continuation inside separator in form of solution flow downward guide. Heating chamber is equipped with tight-fitting heat transfer cage with place for temperature sensor installation, solution inlet into supply chamber is made with branch pipe located tangentially tangent to supply chamber bend guide at inlet of branch pipe, wherein flow passage of the branch pipe is equal to half the flow section of the feed chamber, and the outlet of the branch pipe is made with a cut at an angle. Evaporated solution is discharged through the pipe in the lower part of the feed chamber. On side surface of separator there are branch pipes for control of lower, working and upper levels of solution. At that, distance between lower, working and upper nozzles in separator depends on requirements of nuclear safety, physical and chemical characteristics of initial and evaporated products, geometric dimensions of the apparatus and is determined by an empirical relationship which enables to obtain a vaporised product of required quality, providing longer service life of the evaporator and nuclear safety.

EFFECT: technical result is higher circulation rate of solution while ensuring nuclear safety and longer service life of evaporator.
