FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining boundaries of a methane-hazardous area of mined-out area near a mining face. Method of determining boundaries of methane-hazardous area of mined-out space near mining face includes conducting side workings in plane of coal bed, measurement of concentration and flow rate of methane in lava and in adjacent to mined space part of bottomhole lava space. Degassing well is made from the side ventilation of the mining section to the roof of the bed at the massif not unloaded from the rock pressure. According to well concentration and flow rate measurement data, the location of its maximum value is determined in coordinates of three-dimensional space enclosed by vacuum action of the well. Impact of mining face on process of change of methane content in worked-out area of lava is established by beginning of reduction of methane flow rate from well. Area of the methane-air mixture perturbed by the well in the mined-out area adjacent to the mine working face is determined along the boundary of the internal outline of the three-dimensional gas space and the bed soil in the section of air leaks from the mined space into the bottomhole space of the lava.

EFFECT: determination of boundaries of methane-hazardous area of mined-out area near mining face by content of methane in it.
