SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pyrotechnics and represents a method for granulating inflammable zirconium-containing pyrotechnic compositions to ensure safe operation when handling them. Method involves treatment of pyrotechnic composition with solution of binder, which is liquid sodium glass in amount of 3–10 wt% over formula of pyrotechnic composition.

EFFECT: introduction of process additive into pyrotechnic zirconium-containing compositions reduces their sensitivity to electric spark and friction, improved process characteristics – flowability, compactability, strength of articles and reduction of dusting.
