SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hair clipping devices. Cutting head for device for cutting hair comprises set of cutting plates, containing fixed cutting and knife cutting plates. Fixed cutting and knife cutting inserts comprise front edge with teeth jointly defined by means of appropriate teeth of fixed cutting plate and blade cutting plate. Teeth of the fixed cutting plate and blade cutting plate extend in lengthwise direction. Fixed cutting plate comprises a front surface, in particular, on its teeth. Front surface faces the user's skin during operation and the skin protection device engaged with the section of the cutting head body. Skin protection device partially closes the front surface. Skin protection device is configured to move in response to applied external forces between the first state and the second state relative to the set of cutting plates. Skin protection device is located in the extended position in the first condition and in the retracted position in the second state.

EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of shaving.
