FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and relates to method of increasing strength of steels, in particular, method of hardening of low- and medium-carbon steels, and can be used in production of parts of structures and machines. Three-time thermal cycling of steel is performed by heating at rate of 1 mm/m, holding in the furnace and cooling, at that furnace temperature 300 °C, holding in the furnace after heating the entire cross-section is 3–5 minutes, and cooling is carried out in calm air.
EFFECT: improving hardening efficiency and simplifying the technology of hardening of steel strength.
