FIELD: chemical and heat treatment of steel parts.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes at least three cycles of heating to temperature above Ac3 and cooling to temperature below Ar1. Heating and cooling are performed in solid carburizer. Heating is effected by bursts of electromagnetic radiation pulses to temperature of 120±10K. Cooling is continued to temperature of 910±10K. Rate of heating and cooling does not exceed 1K/s. Holding time at extreme temperatures is about 2 min.
EFFECT: enhanced wear resistance of coat possessing high hardness and strength.
