SUBSTANCE: field of application: electrical equipment. Method and system for performing detection of arc short circuit and earth fault in two-functional circuit breaker CAFI/GFCI uses two analogue-to-digital converters (ADC), one for digitization of arc closure and one for sampling of ground fault. Each ADC operates independently of the other ADC and can be available in the microcontroller as required without interfering with operation of the other ADC. Such simultaneous use of several ADCs minimizes or eliminates the need for complex time segmentation or similar control circuits, thereby freeing the microcontroller for other operations and tasks associated with detecting a short circuit.
EFFECT: technical result is elimination of synchronization and resource conflicts in two-function circuit breaker CAFI/GFCI.
