FIELD: monitoring and measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control and measuring equipment, in particular to devices for controlling temperature dependence of viscosity and characteristic glass temperatures. Method for rapid determination of temperature dependence of viscosity and characteristic temperatures of glasses involves measuring rate of elongation of sample at constant mechanical load and at constant temperature, wherein sample heating in the form of hollow tube is performed by induction method by means of intermediate heating element from conductive high-temperature material placed inside specimen. Device for fast determination of temperature dependence of viscosity and characteristic glass temperatures includes furnace, sensors for measuring elongation and temperature, mechanical loading system with constant weight, note here that specimen heating is performed due to intermediate heating element made from high-temperature conductive material heated by induction method, and pyrometer operating in spectral area of glass opacity is used as temperature sensor.
EFFECT: reduced duration of the procedure of determining viscosity for 10–15 minutes at one temperature point near the sample in the form of a hollow tube, as well as high reliability of data on characteristic temperatures and viscosity of glasses owing to elimination of the melting stage.
