SUBSTANCE: device comprises at least one AC generation unit, at least one inductor with at least two active zones (24A, 24A', 24B, 24B') and holding unit (19) with front (19A) and rear (19B) holding sections for installation of inductor, which is connected to unit for alternating current generation, wherein retaining sections (19A, 19B) are located with formation of slot (S), longitudinal direction (XS) of which corresponds to direction (T) of packages (10) transportation. Active zones (24A, 24A', 24B, 24B') of the inductor with respect to middle plane (31) lying in the slit (S) are at least partially located asymmetrically to each other. Invention is also a method for induction heating of packages bodies using above described device.
