SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the upper parts of the luggage compartments. Luggage compartment of the aircraft contains an upper casing and a shelf that is pivotally connected to the upper casing, which cooperates with the upper casing to limit the interior space of the compartment. Shelf includes a bottom, a leading edge, first and second opposite side walls extending upward from the bottom, and a center of gravity. Shelf rotates about the pivot axis relative to the upper housing between the open position and the closed position, and the center of gravity of the flange is located below the pivot axis when the flange is in the closed position.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at reducing efforts to close the compartment.
