FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 2-methylamino-5-chlorobenzophenone used as a semi-product for synthesis of drug preparations of benzodiazepine series – sibazone, oxazepam, etc. Disclosed method involves reduction of methyl sulphate 1-methyl-5-chlor-3-phenylanthranil in medium of water isopropyl alcohol. Reduction is carried out with sodium hydrosulphite at temperature of 45–50 °C, and concentration of isopropyl alcohol in water is 20–25 %.
EFFECT: developed is a safer and more technologically scalable industrial-use method of producing 2-methylamino-5-chlorobenzophenone by creating conditions which minimize the set of reagents used (in the absence of especially aggressive reagents) and reducing the number of steps for obtaining the desired product with simultaneous increase in its purity and output relative to the initial anthranyl.
