Abstract RU 2703619 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing silicon oxide elastomer composites using a destabilized dispersion of never-dried, or freshly prepared, deposited silicon dioxide. Method of producing an elastomeric composite during production of a wet master batch includes, but is not limited to, use of a fluid medium which includes an elastomer latex, and use of an additional fluid, which includes destabilized dispersion of particles of silicon dioxide in form of particles, having value of zeta potential of less than 30 mV, where silicon dioxide was obtained without drying silicon dioxide to water content less than 60 wt. %. Two fluids are combined together under continuous flow conditions and at selected rates. Combination is carried out so that silicon dioxide is dispersed inside the elastomer latex and simultaneously (or almost simultaneously) elastomer latex is converted from liquid into solid or semi-solid elastomeric composite, for example, in solid or semi-solid containing silicon dioxide, continuous rubber phase. Use of destabilized dispersion of silicon dioxide, which was not pre-dried, in such process of master batch production makes it possible to form an elastomeric composite with desirable properties. Described also are elastomeric composites obtained in any one or more methods of the present invention, and articles made from elastomeric composite(s) or include an elastomeric composite(s) of the present invention.

EFFECT: technical result is providing a method which eliminates or reduces the degree of drying silicon dioxide before adding it to latex with uniform distribution of finely divided dispersed silicon dioxide inside the latex and, simultaneously, while such distribution takes place, inversion of rubber from liquid to solid rubber phase to obtain an elastomeric composite of higher quality.
