System for irrigation through anus and/or stoma, comprising: tank for flushing liquid; catheter comprising a catheter tip for insertion into the rectum and/or a user's foot and for releasing the flushing fluid from the catheter tip, wherein the catheter further comprises a stretchable retention member for fixing the catheter tip inside the rectus or the user's stoma. Pipe system forms the first channel for flushing fluid between the reservoir and the catheter and the second channel for flushing fluid between the reservoir and the stretching retaining element. Valve system in the second channel serves to control the flushing liquid flow between the reservoir and the stretching retaining element. Pump is configured to pumping flushing fluid from reservoir to catheter tip and is a reversible pump, which is made with possibility of pumping flushing liquid into stretchable retaining element during its operation in one direction for its inflation and during operation in reverse direction to remove flushing liquid from stretching retaining element for its compression. Pump and valve system are made with possibility of control for selective: rinsing fluid pumping into stretching retaining element for its expansion; pumping of flushing fluid through the catheter to discharge the flushing fluid from the catheter tip and into the rectum or stoma of the user; flushing fluid removal from holding element for its emptying. Disclosed is a method of controlling a system.
